The Challenge of VOC Emissions Inventories in the European Union-Leipzig-October 2018

EUROPEAN SOLVENTS INDUSTRY GROUP (ESIG)

ESIG has now generated detailed Solvent VOC Inventories for four years, 2008, 2009, 2013 and 2015 for the European Union, using a top-down approach starting with Solvent volumes supplied to each Member State. The work has shown that Solvent VOC Emissions have stabilized in the EU28 at just under 2000ktonnes. Comparison with some Member States has identified why Member States are over-estimating Solvent VOC Inventories. Our Inventories are compared with those of Mobile and Biogenic sources in the European Union. Our Research work will lead to further improvements in our future estimates of Solvent VOC Emissions.
